Routes are generated by a computer from map data. Nobody has walked them, looked at them, or checked whether they are safe. Obey traffic rules, judge the road for yourself, and do not follow a line on a screen into something stupid.
What the routes are
A Dtour route is a suggestion, not a survey. It is built automatically from OpenStreetMap data, contributed by volunteers, which can be out of date or wrong. We do not check, and cannot tell you, whether a route has a pavement or separation from traffic, is lit or passable in the weather you have, crosses private land, or is sensible to run alone or at night.
You are responsible for your own safety and for obeying the law where you are running.
The service itself
Dtour is a hobby project offered as-is, with no warranty and no guarantee of availability, accuracy or fitness for any purpose. It runs on one small server. It may be slow, refuse your request, or disappear. Nothing here is a paid service and nothing is owed to you.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss or damage arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Swedish law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Fair use
Do not automate against the API, scrape it, or try to knock it over. There is one server and making it unusable spoils it for everyone.
