About
Running routes that draw something on the map.
Pick a spot, pick a distance, and D-Tour finds a loop on real streets that draws a shape. You get a route you can actually run, a GPX file for your watch, and an image worth sending to someone.
How it works
The shape is a template. D-Tour searches for a place near your pin where that template can be laid over the street network, then matches it to roads and paths using a routing engine called Valhalla, running on our own server with OpenStreetMap data.
It then scores what it found. A route is ranked on how closely it follows the intended shape, how much it doubles back on itself, and whether it cuts through buildings. You get the best few, not the first one that fit.
Where it works
All of Sweden, at launch. The map opens on Stockholm because that is where a first try succeeds. Search for a place and anywhere we cannot route yet is marked as such before you commit to it, rather than after a long wait.
Coverage is built city by city, so it widens without the app changing. If somewhere you want is missing, it is a build away rather than a rewrite.
Places it will not draw
D-Tour refuses to centre a shape on schools, places of worship, hospitals, cemeteries, memorials or playgrounds. That filter is not optional and the server will not start without it. If you get told "not here", that is why. Move the pin a street over.

- Map data from OpenStreetMap contributors, licensed under ODbL.
- Basemap tiles from OpenFreeMap and OpenMapTiles.
- Place search by Photon, also on OpenStreetMap data.
- Routing by Valhalla. Map rendering by MapLibre GL.
Who made it
One person, in Sweden, as a hobby project. There is no company, no account to make and no newsletter. Page views are counted so I know if anyone is using it, without cookies and without following you anywhere else, and the privacy page says exactly what that means. A note on the routes. They are generated automatically and nobody has checked them. Read the terms before you run one, and use your own judgement about traffic, surfaces and light.
